Wholesale & supply

The Forbidden Soup is a small-batch bath goods line in active build-out. We are sourcing ingredients and packaging now, ahead of opening the shop. This page is for suppliers, co-packers, and retailers who want to know exactly where we are before they spend time on us.

Current status: pre-launch, not yet trading.

We are not accepting retail or wholesale orders today. Formulations, packaging, and supply are being finalised. Everything below is an accurate description of the business as it stands — we would rather be useful than impressive.

What we are sourcing

Seven blends across the opening line, plus clay masks and foot soaks in formulation. These are the categories we are actively looking for supply partners in. Small opening volumes with room to grow — we would rather be honest about our size than over-commit and disappoint a first order.

Botanicals & herbs

Dried flower, leaf, root, and peel at cosmetic quality: chamomile, lavender, yarrow, skullcap, peppermint, calendula, hops, echinacea, blackberry leaf, rooibos, hibiscus, lemongrass, galangal, kaffir lime leaf, ginger, ashwagandha, rose, jasmine. Consistent sift, documented origin.

Resins & gums

Frankincense, myrrh, mastic, gum arabic, and amber. Grade and origin matter to us here more than price — this is the character of our namesake blend, not a filler.

Clays & minerals

Red clay and Dead Sea salt in bath-appropriate grain sizes, plus additional cosmetic clays for the mask line. Bulk sacks preferred; we blend, fill, and pack in-house.

Conifer & forest material

Cedar, pine, juniper and juniper berries, and lichen. Sustainably harvested with a traceable source — we will ask where it came from.

Essential oils & aromatics

Bergamot, clary sage, eucalyptus, peppermint, ylang-ylang, sandalwood. Skin-safe materials with IFRA documentation and full allergen declarations — including phototoxicity data where it applies.

Functional bases

Colloidal oatmeal, aloe, and coconut milk powder. For anything with a water activity or shelf-life constraint we will want to talk about preservation early, not late.

What we will need from you

Documentation
Spec sheet, SDS, and CoA per lot. For anything touching skin, we need it on file before a purchase order, not after.
Lot traceability
Lot codes we can carry through into our own batch records. Our ERP tracks batches from raw material to finished set.
Opening volumes
Small. We are launching a line, not restocking one. Tell us your true minimum and we will tell you honestly whether we can meet it now or need to grow into it.
Restricted & regulated material
Several blends use botanicals with jurisdiction-specific rules (blue lotus and ashwagandha among them). We need origin, species confirmation, and any applicable restriction guidance in writing so we can decide where a blend can ship.
Samples
We will pay for samples. We would rather test properly than commit to a pallet on a photograph.
Lead times
Realistic ones, including your own upstream constraints and any seasonality in the botanicals.

How we operate

Inventory & orders

Run on ERPNext from day one — items, batches, warehouses, purchase orders, and stock ledger. Reorder points and lot history are recorded, not remembered.

Production

Bills of materials and work orders per blend, so every finished set resolves to the specific raw lots that went into it.

Payment

Standard terms; we will work to yours on opening orders. Retail and in-person sales settle through Helcim once we are trading.
